Jourama Falls day-use area

Jourama Falls day-use area is a popular swimming and picnic spot and a good place for viewing wildlife.

Jourama Falls day-use area offers excellent opportunities for viewing wildlife. Birds, freshwater turtles and goannas are attracted to the rainforest-fringed creek. The drier, open woodland of the foothills is home to woodland birds and gliders, including the endangered mahogany glider.

Getting there and getting around

To get to Jourama Falls, travel 91km north of Townsville or 24km south of Ingham, then turn off the Bruce Highway onto the 4.5km, unsealed access road. The access road is suitable for most conventional vehicles and caravans.

The day-use area is just after the first causeway.

The toilets and shelter sheds are wheelchair-accessible.

Opening hours

Jourama Falls day-use area is open 24 hours a day. Access may be restricted during wet weather when Waterview Creek rises and causeways are impassable.
