After enjoying a picnic at the McClellands day-use area, a wheelchair-accessible track takes you to the lookout. On a clear day, enjoy the beautiful scenery with extensive views of Halifax Bay and the Palm Islands.

Getting there and getting around

McClellands lookout walking track (wheelchair-accessible) is in the Mount Spec section of Paluma Range National Park and is accessed from the end of the Loop Road, about 100m past the McClellands lookout day-use area.

From Barrett Road, turn onto Mount Spec Road and drive 17km. Take the first right off Mount Spec Road onto Loop Road. Follow the wheelchair access sign to the end of the Loop Road.

Opening hours

McClellands lookout walking track (wheelchair-accessible) is open 24 hours a day. Access may be restricted during wet weather when creeks rise in the Mount Spec area and fallen trees or landslides occur along Mount Spec Road.
