After enjoying a picnic at the McClellands day-use area, a very short walk takes you to the lookout. On a clear day, enjoy the beautiful scenery with extensive views of Halifax Bay and the Palm Islands.
Getting there and getting around
McClellands lookout walking track is in the Mount Spec section of Paluma Range National Park and is accessed from McClellands lookout day-use area.
From Barrett Road, turn onto Mount Spec Road and drive 17km. Take the first right off Mount Spec Road onto Loop Road and park at the McClellands lookout day-use area car park on the right.
From the car park, a walking track leads you to McClellands lookout. Wheelchair access to McClellands lookout is via the second entrance, a short distance further along Loop Road.

Opening hours
McClellands lookout walking track is open 24 hours a day. Access may be restricted during wet weather when creeks rise in the Mount Spec area and fallen trees or landslides occur along Mount Spec Road.
