Camping in Inskip

Beach she-oaks, cypress pine and other coastal trees and shrubs shade Inskip Peninsula’s camping areas, which are ringed by open ocean beaches and sheltered estuary shores—all within 15 minutes drive of Rainbow Beach.

Wind and water conditions generally become calmer in areas where the peninsula curves westward towards Great Sandy Strait.

Permits

Camping permits must be obtained prior to arrival. You can book online now and fees apply

If you can't book online, see other booking options.

If you have booked and paid online make sure you:

  • Print off your permit tag if possible and fill in all the details.
  • Bring your booking number and permit with you to the park.
  • Pick up an information pack—which may contain a more durable permit tag—from outside the QPWS information centre—either at Rainbow Beach or Tewantin.
  • Clearly display the permit tag at your camp.
  • Individual sites cannot be booked—it's 'first in, best placed'.
  • No vehicle access permits are needed for any Inskip camping areas.

If part of an organised group, an organised event permit may also be required
