I often visit here. So beautiful place. Now Discovery Centre is closed because of Covid-19.

Some lovely walks with a big lake. Loads of wildlife in nature. An enclosed part of the lake so good for the kids to swim

Great place to see wildlife and hear talks from expert rangers. Wildlife shows are interesting and you get to handle different reptiles. Nice informative displays and easy to see wildlife care in neat enclosures. Highly recommended.

They have kangaroos, wallabies, an emu and a wombat, quite a few snakes and lizards and frogs, but the real highlight is the platypus! It's only a small centre but if you take your time and enjoy everything you can spend a good hour looking at the animals. Don't expect Australia zoo and you won't be disappointed.

Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre open 9am to 4.15pm, seven days a week

Our wildlife and park rangers look forward to welcoming you to the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre. As part of our COVID-safe plan, we have implemented some changes:

  • All entry must be pre-booked online to guarantee admission to our Wildlife Centre or Wildlife Discovery Shows.
  • Social distancing measures are in place and therefore our indoor venues also have visitor number limits while our outdoor environment provides visitors a safe haven.
  • Remember to practise good hygiene at all times. To help we have increased the number of hand sanitisation stations available.
  • Floor/ground markings will help guide you in the right direction when visiting our park and Wildlife Centre.
  • Enhanced cleaning, particularly in our high-contact areas, doors, bathrooms and visitor centre areas is in place.
  • Our Wildlife Discovery Show is moving to an outdoor venue so visitors can still see and experience our unique species up close.
  • Walkabout Creek Café is once again open to visitors – up on our new entertainment deck. If you are dining-in, you will be required to provide your contact details for tracing.
  • Contactless payments are strongly encouraged across the centre.

Remember, if you’re feeling unwell or displaying flu like symptoms, please rest up at home and visit when you are better. Management reserve the right of refusal for entry and service to customers that don’t adhere to COVID-safe requirements.
