Lama Lama National Park (CYPAL) Tropical North Queensland

In 2008, Lama Lama National Park (CYPAL) became Queensland’s first jointly managed national park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land). Some of the park's features include the Annie River, tall messmate woodlands, coastal plains, beach ridges, tidal flats, scattered sand dunes and coastal vine thickets.

Lama Lama National Park (CYPAL) is jointly managed by the Lama Lama Land Trust and the Queensland Government in accordance with an Indigenous Management Agreement and other land management arrangements. Read more about the joint management of Cape York Peninsula national parks.

There are currently no camping or visitor facilities. Please see the Lama Lama National Park (CYPAL) map (PDF, 329.6KB) for areas accessible to the public. Access to the Alingina Wungku Living Area (PDF, 159.4KB) and Goose Swamp and Bull Swamp Area (PDF, 174.3KB) is prohibited to protect cultural resources and property.

Location

On Cape York Peninsula, about 300km north-west of Cooktown and about 150km south-east of Coen.
