This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned maintenance on the walking tracks in Springbrook National Park commencing from Monday the 15th of April 2024 (weather pending).

The following tracks will be temporarily closed from 15 April to 28 June 2024.

  • Partial closure of the eastern side of the Purling Brook Falls circuit – from the Purling Brook Falls causeway at the top of the canyon to the John Stacey suspension bridge below.
  • Partial closure of the Twin Falls circuit – northwards from Canyon lookout at the top of the canyon to the junction of the Warrie circuit below.
  • The entire Warringa Pool track (including the corresponding section of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk).

During the closure the below walking tracks will remain open:

  • Western side of the Purling Brook Falls circuit, including the John Stacey suspension bridge and the base of the waterfall, including the eastern and western lookouts and Tanninaba lookout.
  • Southern section of the Twin Falls circuit (from northern junction of Warrie circuit to southern junction of Warrie circuit, including access to/from Tallanbana).
  • The Warrie circuit

Please observe all barriers, signs, and directions from the rangers, and do not enter the closed area.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter the closed area.

Facilities will reopen once reconstruction work is completed by the end of June 2024.
