Camping in Barakula
There is one designated camping area in Barakula State Forest, which is accessed by unsealed roads that are suitable for conventional vehicles in dry weather only. Dogwood Creek camping area provides visitors with a peaceful stay near the banks of the creek deep within the forest. Visitors need to be self-sufficient as there are no facilities provided. Please camp with minimum impact.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
Park-specific conditions
Take all your rubbish out of the forest for appropriate disposal. Rubbish bins are not provided in Barakula State Forest. The nearest refuse transfer station is at Slessar Street Chinchilla 45km from Barakula.
Dogs are permitted in Dogwood Creek camping area—they must be on a leash and under control at all times.
