This alert applies to the following park:
- Snapper Island, Hope Islands National Park (CYPAL)Tropical North Queensland
The easternmost campsite of Snapper Island remains closed following damage from Cyclone Jasper in December 2023.
The other three campsites have been reopened and are available to book. The island has also been reopened for day use.
The island is open with caution; please be aware that there is still some debris around the sites and internal tracks, and noticeable cyclone damage to the island. Rangers have worked to ensure that visitor infrastructure is safe. The easternmost campsite will be reopened once additional works have been completed.
Please observe all signage, barriers, and directions from Rangers and do not enter closed areas.
