Camping in Welford

Relax and enjoy bush camping in a quiet creek setting.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Park-specific conditions

  • Be alert and prepared for changes in weather. Even small amounts of rain on the park or in surrounding areas can cause floods at any time of year. If heavy rain or minor flooding occurs, move to higher ground.
  • Camp fires are permitted in the fire rings provided, except when fire prohibitions or fire bans are in place. Bring your own clean, weed free firewood. Fuel stoves are recommended.

  • Little Boomerang Waterhole camping area is located on the banks of the Barcoo River under the shade of river red gums and tea-trees.
