Tewantin National Park Sunshine Coast

Rainforest, open eucalypt forest and remnants of wallum heath between Noosa and Cooroy are protected in this hilly subtropical forest. Mount Tinbeerwah (265m above sea level) is a small volcanic plug remnant of volcanic activity some 27 million years ago. The mountain provides spectacular views over the coastal lowlands and to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. This area is home to the endangered swamp stringybark Eucalyptus conglomerata, which is a multi-trunked tree with grey, fibrous bark and clusters of creamy white flowers.
