The parks of Central West Queensland protect a variety of ecosystems and unspoilt scenery including wetlands, floodplains and channel country, rocky and tree-covered scarp, spinifex-clad sand dunes, Mitchell grass downs, coolibah woodlands, mesas and plateaus. Historical and cultural sites add to the distinctive appeal of these parks.
Location
Ten parks with access for visitors are featured around the Central West Queensland towns of Longreach, Winton, Boulia, Birdsville and Windorah.
