Camping in Palmer Goldfield
All camping must be booked
All camping in this park must be booked in advance prior to arrival. Campers must purchase an e-permit and pay their camping fees before arriving at the camping areas—self-registration is not available and there is no mobile phone coverage on site.
To obtain an e-permit, you can:
- book online
- visit an over-the-counter camping permit booking office or self-service kiosk
- phone 13 QGOV (13 74 68). Mobile phone charges may apply.
Enjoy basic camping at the North Palmer River camping area—a remote and undeveloped bush camp on the North Palmer River. The camping area consists of two separate sections of river bank along the North Palmer River—the upper and lower sections. Camping permits are for the camping area as a whole—visitors can chose to camp at either the upper or lower section on arrival.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. Your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve is closed throughout the wet season every year from 1 December, reopening on Good Friday—roads into and on the park become impassable for extended periods and are closed to public access. These dates may vary depending on weather and road conditions, and roads may also be closed after heavy rain.
North Palmer River camping area is located beside the North Palmer River in a remote bush setting.
