Camping in Moogerah Peaks

Frog Buttress camping area and Mount French vehicle-based camping area are the only camping areas in Moogerah Peaks National Park. Both are in the Mount French section of the park. Frog Buttress camping area is named after the northern-facing cliff line by rock climbers in the early 1970s. Both camping areas are normally occupied by the rock climbing community from Easter till late October each year. Alternative campgrounds or accommodation are available nearby.

Camping during the hotter months is not recommended as temperatures can reach up to 40°C during the day.

There is a vehicle-based camping area located next to the Mount French car park. This camping area is for vehicle-based camping only. Caravans and camper trailers are not suitable for this camping area.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
