The Forts Walk is the island’s most popular walking experience, showcasing many highlights of Magnetic Island National Park—koalas, stunning views and World War II relics all set in the island’s dry tropical landscape.
From the top of the Forts Circuit, link to the track that heads straight down the hill to Florence Bay . After exploring the Forts, enjoy relaxing in the shade at this beautiful sandy beach—also a good place to go for a swim and snorkelling on the fringing reef. Remember to swim safely.
Ideally, this walk can be undertaken as a circuit returning to the Forts Junction. Be aware! The walking track linking Florence Bay to the Forts Walk is steep with many steps.
