The Razorback camping area is accessible by high-clearance 4WD in dry conditions only. To access Razorback camping area with an off-road camper trailer, enter via Dawson Highway and Tableland Road park entrance. Access along Razorback track from the south-west is unsuitable for towing.

Camping area features: secluded small camping area in a tall blackbutt forest setting.

Location: turn off the Tableland Road onto the Razorback 4WD track and travel 1.4km to the camping area.

Access: high-clearance 4WD in dry conditions only. Note, south-west access along Razorback 4WD track (PDF, 477.1KB) is unsuitable for towing. Read more about camping area access.

Number of sites: small camping area with 2 camp sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent and high-clearance camper trailer camping beside your vehicle; maximum of 6 people per camp site.

Camp site surface: grass.

Facilities: none. Use good camp hygiene. Bring a portable toilet to minimise pollution in this area—dispose of toilet waste at the Griffiths Creek camping area dump point facility (off Tableland Road). If toileting away from your portable toilet, bury all toilet waste at least 15cm deep and 100m from waterways, tracks and camp sites. A toilet is located at the Kroombit Tops lookout.

Open fires: are permitted only in fire-rings provided, except when fire prohibitions* or fire bans* are in place. Bring your own clean-milled timber for firewood. Fuel stoves are recommended to minimise impacts.

Generators: not permitted.

Essentials to bring: drinking water; strong sealable containers or rubbish bags to store your food and your rubbish (to take it out of the park when you leave); portable toilet; toilet trowel/shovel (for use if toileting away from your portable toilet); insect repellent; clean-milled timber for firewood. Mobile phone coverage: not available. Nearest reliable reception for emergency Triple Zero (000) calls is approximately 600m north of the Ranger barracks, at the end of the bitumen on Tableland Road. Look for the phone totems as you drive. More reliable phone reception is at Kroombit Tops lookout (13.4km drive from Razorback camping area).
