Camping area features: flat open grassy area, about 100m from the banks of Griffiths Creek.
Location: 2.4km south of The Barracks, on the Tableland Road.
Access: conventional vehicles in dry weather only via Tableland Road from the park's northern entrance. If you plan to tow a trailer, camper trailer or small caravan we recommend you use a four-wheel-drive vehicle to ensure your vehicle is suitable for towing on steep, loose gravel roads. You will need driving and towing skills for negotiating narrow, steep gravel roads with no turnaround options. The road is unsuitable for conventional 2WD vehicles towing a trailer, campervan or small caravan, and large caravans, motorhomes and buses. Read more about camping area access.
Number of sites: open area without defined sites.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent and camper trailer camping beside your vehicle; small caravans and campervans. Suitable for larger groups.
Camp site surface: grass.
Facilities: none. Use good camp hygiene. Preferably bring a portable toilet to minimise pollution in this area—dispose of toilet waste appropriately. Alternatively, bury all toilet waste at least 15cm deep and 100m from waterways, tracks and camp sites.
Open fires: are permitted only in fire-rings provided, except when fire prohibitions* or fire bans* are in place. Bring your own clean-milled timber for firewood. Fuel stoves are recommended to minimise impacts.
* Check park alerts beforehand.
Generators: not permitted.
Essentials to bring: drinking water; rubbish bags; portable toilet; toilet trowel/shovel; insect repellent; clean-milled timber for firewood. Read more about before you visit.
Bookings: book online or learn about our camping booking options.
Mobile phone coverage: not available. Nearest reliable reception is near The Barracks and approximately 600m north of The Barracks, at the end of the bitumen on Tableland Road. Look for the phone totems as you drive.
