Take your time as you walk along this pleasant although sometimes slippery track from the Mossman Gorge day-use area that winds along the river bank then joins the Baral Marrjanga track. From small lookouts, watch mesmerised as the Mossman River tumbles over smooth granite boulders and rushes swiftly towards the ocean.
Look for brilliant butterflies fluttering in the rainforest, and watch jungle perch and saw-shelled turtles in the river below. We don’t recommend joining them though—it can be dangerous to swim here.
This park is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, famed for its exceptional natural beauty, outstanding examples of the record of life, evolutionary history and remarkable diversity.
