Rocky Hole

Accessible from the Mount Mee forest drive, take the short 200m walk down many steps that lead to the rocky creek edge beside a series of delightful rock pools.

A great place to visit on a hot day, take a cooling dip and admire the rocky-outcrop surrounds and fringing eucalypt forest.

Enjoy spotting turtles, eels and crayfish in the creek, and dragonflies and kingfishers around the creek's edges.

On the short but steep return walk, stop at a small platform to admire views overlooking the creek and waterholes.

WARNING! Concealed water hazards. Submerged objects are hidden under the water and water could be shallower than it looks. Diving or jumping into this water is dangerous and could result in serious, permanent injuries or death.

  • Do not dive or jump into the water.
  • Take care on wet and slippery rocks.
  • Supervise children at all times.

Getting there and getting around

Rocky Hole is in the North D'Aguilar section (Mount Mee) of D'Aguilar National Park, about 79km from the city of Brisbane.

  • A 200m Grade 3 walk down many steps begins from the Rocky Hole car park.
  • A 4WD or trail bike is recommended to access Rocky Hole. The maximum speed limit on forest roads is 40km/hr and all road rules apply.
  • Read 4WD with care for important information on 4WD safety and minimal impact driving.
  • Read trail bike ride with care for tips on riding safely and riding with care.

From the south

  • Drive 24km from Dayboro via Mount Mee Road (tourist route number 29) and Sellin Road to the park's entrance.
  • Continue past The Gantry then turn onto Mount Mee forest drive and travel about 8km north following the signs to the Rocky Hole car park.

From the north

  • Drive about 17km from Woodford, via the D'Aguilar Highway, Neurum, Stanton and Rassmussen roads to the park's northern entrance.
  • Travel south along the Mount Mee forest drive following the signs to the Rocky Hole car park.
  • There is no access via Settlement, Fyffe, Centipede or Nine V roads.

Wheelchair access

There are no wheelchair-accessible facilities at Rocky Hole. The closest wheelchair-accessible facilities are located at The Gantry day-use area.
