Camping in Cathu

Picnic or camp beside Pandanus Creek at Jaxut camping area, located 12km west of the Bruce Highway.

Forest-specific conditions

Access into the State forest is by unsealed road. Access maybe difficult for caravans. The road to Cathu is only suitable for 4WD vehicles.

The water flow at Pandanus Creek is seasonal.

Domestic animals are not permitted in Jaxut camping area.

Bring your own clean firewood such as untreated, mill off-cuts—collecting firewood from the forest is prohibited.

A generator that operates at or below 65dB(A) is allowed between the hours of 9am to 8pm.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
