From the Mail boxes, drive north to the amazing sandstone Marlong Arch. Continue onto Kookaburra Cave to admire Aboriginal stencil art. Catch a glimpse of Lots Wife—a remarkable sandstone pillar—from the road. Take a short detour to the natural grassland of Marlong Plain and walk down to the edge of the plain for views of distant sandstone cliffs and ridges, especially lovely as the sun sets. Turn south towards the ranger station and call into the Information Hut for stories about the area’s colourful history. Return to the Mail boxes to complete your day's exploration.
