Camping in Byfield

Byfield national and conservation parks, and Byfield State Forest offer a range of camping experiences, from sites with facilities to secluded bush camping. Five Rocks camping area in Byfield Conservation Park is the only camping area with facilities. Nine Mile Beach camping area and Scouts Camp at Water Park Point headland in Byfield National Park offer bush-camp settings with no facilities.

Camping is not permitted on Five Rocks (Three Rivers) Beach, Sandy Point Section or Corio Bay.

Byfield State Forest offers three camping areas with adjoining day-use areas. Swim at Upper Stony, walk through the beautiful rainforest setting of Water Park Creek or listen to wind in pine trees at Red Rock. All camping areas have visitor facilities.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Park-specific conditions

Byfield camping permits can only be issued for a maximum of seven consecutive nights and are only valid for the number of people and specific camp site you have booked.
