Settle in for a day on the banks of the Burrum and Gregory rivers. Head off for a walk, photograph the wildlife, go fishing, have a picnic, play beach cricket, paddle a canoe, or just sit back and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Blue gums, bloodwoods and Moreton Bay ash shelter the picnic tables, offering a reprieve from the sun.
Pack some water, binoculars and camera and set off on foot on the Bird Hide walk and Melaleuca track, or you just wander along the water’s edge. Keep an eye on the water—marine turtles and dugong are seen here.
Slip your canoe or kayak into the water and explore the rivers and ocean or launch your boat nearby and anchor carefully off the day-use area.
