Starting from the Alligator Creek day-use area, follow an easy walking track to the top of a rocky cliff and Alligator Creek lookout.
From the lookout snap a canopy-level panorama of the lower sections of Alligator Valley. The lookout can also be accessed from the Alligator Creek walk via the stairs. Please take note of all safety advice.
Getting there and getting around
The Alligator Creek lookout is in the Mount Elliot section of Bowling Green Bay National Park about 25km south of Townsville.
- The Alligator Creek lookout begins at the trailhead located in the Alligator Creek day use area.
- Follow an easy walking track to the lookout. Return the way you came or via the Alligator Creek walk.
- If you wish to continue on to the Cockatoo Creek trail, be well prepared! A moderate level of fitness is required.

There is no wheelchair access to the Alligator Creek lookout.

The Alligator Creek lookout is open 24 hours a day.
