Camping area features: in a beach environment beside Salmon Creek.
Location: access to Salmon Creek camping area is via the coastal township of Cungulla. Turn off the Bruce Highway onto Cape Cleveland Road and follow the signs to Cungulla. The camping area is approximately 6km along the beach.
Access: the camping area is accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles only. Be respectful of other beach users and avoid driving on the dunes. Read the driving on sand (PDF, 2.3MB) brochure to find out how to be a safe and responsible beach user. Camp sites are susceptible to tidal influences, especially at high tides. Avoid travelling during the two hours either side of high tide. For safety, avoid travelling at night. Never sleep, sit or picnic in vehicle traffic zones such as the beach, roads or camping area access tracks.
Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites. Up to eight people are allowed.
Camp sites are suitable for: camper trailers and tent camping beside your four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Facilities: none.
Open fires: prohibited. Bring a fuel or gas stove.
Generators: not permitted.
Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags, a fuel or gas stove and insect repellent. Read more about before you visit.
