Bough Shed Waterhole camping area

Camping area features: camp beside Surprise Creek, and see wallaroos, red kangaroos and abundant birdlife at the permanent Bough Shed Waterhole.

Location: 12km south of park boundary, along the Route of the River Gum tourist drive.

Access: high clearance 4WD is recommended year round. However the camping area may be reached in dry weather by 2WD vehicles with high clearance.

Number of sites: open areas without separately defined sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; camper trailers.

Camp site surface: dirt/grass, may be boggy in wet weather.

Facilities: wheelchair accessible toilets.

Open fires: permitted, except when fire prohibitions or fire bans are in place. Bring your own clean-cut fire wood. Fuel stoves are recommended.

Generators: not allowed, except for medical reasons (conditions apply).

Essentials to bring: all food and drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags and containers, insect repellent, sun protection, first-aid kit, reliable torch, vehicle spares and sufficient fuel. Read more about before you visit.
