Have fun on this mountain bike trail that follows the banks of the Ewen Maddock dam, named after an early European settler and local pioneer.
Designed for beginners, the trail is perfect for a family outing. Pump your pedals along the trail through blackbutt forests, fern gullies and melaleuca wetlands.
Stop along the way to soak up views of the dam and Mount Beerwah towering over the distant landscape. Spot wildlife in the trees or in the waters of the dam as you go by.

Getting there and getting around
Ewen Maddock mountain bike trail is in Beerwah State Forest on the Sunshine Coast.

- The trail starts from the Ewen Maddock Dam car park (managed by Seqwater) on Steve Irwin Way.
- The first part of the trail is two directional.
- The rest is a one-way circuit. Follow it clockwise.
- All access roads to the trail start are sealed and suitable for conventional vehicles.
From Brisbane
- Take exit 163 onto Steve Irwin Way off the Bruce Highway.
- Travel 24.6km and turn left into the Ewen Maddock Dam car park.
From the Sunshine Coast
- Take exit 188 B off the Bruce Highway towards Landsborough.
- Travel 5.5km and turn right into Ewen Maddock Dam car park.
From Kilcoy
- Drive to Beerwah and turn left onto Steve Irwin Way.
- Travel 9.5km and turn left into Ewen Maddock Dam car park.
