This alert applies to the following park:

Due to COVID-19 risk and social distancing requirements, certain visitor facilities within Magnetic Island National Park are closed until further notice. This is a necessary precaution to safeguard the health and safety of the community. From Saturday 2 May 2020, some previously closed sites will re-open, see list below.

Remaining open

  • All other areas of the park are open at this time.

We ask that people do not attempt to visit any of the areas that are closed, unless authorised, for their and their community's safety and protection. Compliance with the closures will be monitored.

Observe a minimum 1.5m distance from person to person at all times. We thank park users and the community for their support and cooperation during this time. Follow Queensland Health advice to stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 advice. Check the Department of Environment and Science website and park alerts regularly for updates.
