Pest management control program for Mount Coolum National Park - Marcoola Section

This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a pest management control program at Mount Coolum National Park - Marcoola sections to the north and south-west of the Sunshine Coast Airport from 12 April 2024 to 30 June 2024 (weather permitting) as part of the conservation management program for the park.

All control activities are conducted in accordance with the approved pest management plan which helps to protect native wildlife from the harmful effects of introduced animals. The control method includes the use of Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE's) with Sodium fluoroacetate (1080) vertebrate poison.

As a result, the following areas are temporarily closed for the duration of the pest management program:

  • Mount Coolum National Park - Marcoola sections to the north and south-west of the Sunshine Coast Airport

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
