This alert applies to the following park:

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) in partnership with Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) will conduct a large, planned burn in the South D'Aguilar section of the D'Aguilar National Park from Sunday 28th May through to Thursday 8th June 2023 weather permitting, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen in the Mt Nebo, Brookfield, Gold Creek, Lake Manchester, Mt Crosby, Samford, Highvale, Upper Kedron, The Gap and Pullenvale areas.

The following roads will be closed: 

  • South Boundary Road between Blacksoil Road and Mount Nebo Rd
  • Township Break
  • Lightline Road and Lightline Link Break
  • Creek Road
  • Gold Creek Boundary Break
  • Scrub Road
  • Browns Scrub Break
  • Boombana Break
  • Mermaid Mountain Break
  • Augies Road and the Honey Track

The following back-country campgrounds will be closed:

  • Scrub Road bush camp
  • Lightline Road bush camp
  • Dundas Road bush camp

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.

Refunds can be applied for via your online account at qld.gov.au/camping.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.

Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
