Planned development works at height above the Lower Bellbird walking track

This alert applies to the following parks:

Pending favourable weather conditions, planned development works being undertaken at height on the slope above the walking track alignment will commence from Monday 27 February until Friday 31 March 2023.
As a result, for visitor safety the following areas are temporarily closed for the duration of the closure:
- Eastern section of Lower Bellbird track - from the junction of the Ships Stern circuit to the junction of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk (GCHGW) at Rankins Paddock approx. 300 metres south of the QPWS Visitor Information Centre.
The western section of the Lower Bellbird track from the trailhead at the saddle of Mt Roberts beneath the Binna Burra Teahouse/Cafe to the junction of the Ships Stern cricuit remains open. Also, access to the Ships Stern circuit remains open and unaffected by this closure.
Note: Great Walkers' seeking to complete the GCHGW are required to detour along the Caves track at the saddle of Mt Roberts, beneath the Binna Burra Teahouse/Cafe.
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
