This alert applies to the following park:
- Kroombit Tops National ParkBundaberg; Gladstone; Outback Queensland
QPWS pest management control programs are planned to commence from Monday 8th May 2023 to Sunday 14th of May 2023. All control activities are conducted in accordance with the Kroombit Tops pest animal control plan and help to protect native plants and wildlife from the harmful effects of introduced animals. Firearms, poisons, herbicides or traps may be in use.
As a result, Kroombit Tops National Park will be closed to public access for the duration of the pest management program.
This includes all areas listed below:

All camping and day use areas

Lookout
-
Bomber crash site

All vehicle and walking tracks
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. Apply for a camping permit refund online at www.qld.gov.au/camping. Log into your account and cancel your booking up to two days before your booking commences to receive an automatic refund or alternatively apply for a refund. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Facilities will reopen when the event is completed.
