Temporary closure of camping areas within Byfield National Park and Byfield Conservation Park

This alert applies to the following park:
Casuarina, Pandanus and Melaleuca camping areas along Nine Mile Beach will be temporarily closed from 1 to 25 March 2023 and Myrtella camping area on Nine Mile Beach will be closed from 19 March to 31 March 2023. These closures will be in place to allow site rehabilitation and regeneration and pest animal management activities by QPWS Rangers, including use of firearms. The Five Rocks campground will also be closed to allow for pest animal management between 19 and 25 March 2023, as Byfield National Park and Byfield Conservation Park will be closed to all public access over this date range. Camp bookings for these sites will not be available during the above-mentioned periods, although the sites will be reopened for bookings as soon as required works are completed. Camping areas within Byfield State Forest are not affected by any closures during this period.
Visitors are reminded to abide by any signs and follow any directions given by QPWS Rangers. Penalties may apply for non-compliance.
