This alert applies to the following park:
Construction work is commencing for new ranger accommodation at Ben-Ewa in the Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park.
Visitors may encounter heavy machinery in the area of Middle Road near the Western Beach. The construction site is visible from the northern side of Middle Road but won’t impact on vehicle access along Middle Road.
The area of construction works will be closed to the public and signed for safety.
This new accommodation will assist joint management between Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC).
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
