Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC) wish to advise of the opening of a new camping area in Naree Budjong Djara National Park, called Blaksley camping area.
This new camping area offers a remote camping experience accessible by boat or kayak only. There are 10 tent sites available, with a maximum stay of 7 nights permitted. The area has no facilities, so campers need to be self-sufficient including bringing drinking water. Portable toilets are mandatory, and all rubbish must be removed from the park.
QPWS will be providing fire rings in the coming weeks. Until this time campers are requested to use existing fire sites and bring their own milled timber. Please ensure all campfires are extinguished with water.
In the national park, everything is protected. Collecting native timber is prohibited. Please leave your pets at home, domestic animals including dogs are prohibited in the camping area and adjacent intertidal area.
Bookings for this camping area can be made:
- Online at www.qld.gov.au/camping or
