This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) will conduct a planned burn from 5 August 2022 to 30 September 2022 within the Townsville Town Common Conservation Park, weather permitting. During this period, temporary smoke signage will be displayed during burning activities. Please abide to safety instructions. This is part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen around the local areas and beyond. This planned burn will help reduce the likelihood of wildfires leading into the fire season. Smoke can decrease visibility on the roads, so it is important that motorists drive safely to the conditions. For more information, please call the QPWS&P on 13 74 68.
