This alert applies to the following park:

During the period between the 8 and 31 August, closures and access restrictions to the Mount French and Mount Greville sections of Moogerah Peaks National Park will occur as rangers take advantage of weather conditions to implement a number of planned burns within the park. Please check park alerts regularly for closure dates and any access restrictions as they occur.

The weather and other conditions during this time are expected to be favourable for conducting planned burns. However, the burns will only go ahead if these conditions remain favourable.

Planned burns are vital for reducing the threat of severe wildfires in periods of very high fire danger and help protect life, property and maintain a healthy forest environment.

During these planned burns the entire Mount Greville and Mount French sections of the park will be closed, including all campsites, summit routes and fire lines. All permits for closed areas will be suspended for the duration of the closure. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
