This alert applies to the following park:

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships(QPWS&P) will be conducting a planned burn in Noosa National Park West Coolum Section, directly south of Peregian Springs from Friday 24 June through to Friday 29 July weather permitting, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen in Peregian, Peregian Springs, Weyba Downs, and Coolum areas. The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas. This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration. As a result there will be track closures in these areas. Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from Rangers, and do not enter closed areas. . Safety is our concern but your responsibility. For more information, please call the Tewantin office of QPWS&P on 07 53772700..
