Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn in the coming weeks as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire. During the planned burn, Bluegum section of the Glass House Mountains National Park will be closed to public access. Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Landsborough and Beerwah areas.
Traffic control will be in place along Newells and Old Landsborough Roads during this operation.
