This alert applies to the following parks:

Heavy rain has caused flooding to occur in the Upper Noosa River. Travel on water between Fig Tree Point and Harry’s Hut is unsafe due to the large volume of fast flowing water and hazards caused by submerged objects in the Everglades section of the Noosa River.

As a result, the following areas are temporarily CLOSED until further notice:

  • Upper Noosa River upstream from Fig Tree Point
  • Fig Tree Point camping and day use area
  • Harry’s Hut camping area and day-use area
  • Harry’s Hut Road
  • Upper Noosa River campsites 1 – 15
  • Cooloola Great Walk and campsites
  • Cooloola Wilderness Trail and campsites
  • All other walking tracks adjacent to the Upper Noosa River and Kin Kin Creek catchments.

Rangers are regularly assessing conditions and will reopen all other areas when it is safe to do so.

This advice will be reviewed by Tuesday  24th May 2022 depending on conditions.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
