Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct planned burns on the Cape Cleveland and Mount Elliot sections of Bowling Green Bay National Park from Friday 29 April 2022 to Friday 27 May 2022, weather permitting. This is part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen around the local areas and beyond. These planned burns will help reduce the likelihood of wildfires leading into the fire season. Smoke can decrease visibility on the roads, so it is important that motorists drive safely to the conditions. For more information, please call the QPWS on 13 74 68.
