Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service have engaged a contractor to conduct maintenance works on the Dugong-Sawmill Walking Track from Monday the 6th of June to Friday 24th of June 2022. The walking track will be closed to the public for this period of time.
- Access to the camping area at Dugong Beach, will remain open, but at a reduced capacity.
- Access to Sawmill Beach day use area and The Peak Walking Track will not be affected.
During this time, heavy plant and machinery may be present at the beachfront and a section of campground. Temporary restrictions to parts of the Dugong Beach campground will allow the safe storage of materials and equipment.
Please observe all signs, barriers and directions provided by rangers and construction workers. No unauthorised persons, including commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are permitted to enter closed areas.
