Wet weather access - Lamington National Park partially open.

Following recent wet weather, some walking tracks within Lamington National Park have reopened, while others remain temporarily closed until declared safe. High amounts of rainfall have resulted in fast flowing creeks, swollen creek crossings which may be impassable, muddied and slippery track surfaces which may be difficult to traverse, landslides and tree falls.
QPWS rangers are currently assessing and working on repairing damage caused to the walking track system.
Open walking tracks in the Binna Burra section:
- Rainforest circuit
- Tullawallal circuit
- Daves Creek circuit
- Ships Stern circuit
- Coomera circuit
- Lower and Upper Ballunjui Falls track
- Araucaria lookout track
- Mount Hobwee circuit
- Wagawn track
- Border Track
CLOSED walking tracks in the Binna Burra section:
- Caves track (due to planned works, please see separate park alert)
- Illinbah circuit
- Gwongoorool Pool track
- Lower Bellbird circuit (due to fire damage, please see separate park alert)

Temporarily Closed - Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track - Binna Burra to Numinbah Valley:
Pending favourable weather conditions, planned upgrades to a section of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track (GCHGW) will commence from Tuesday the 26th of April 2022 to Friday the 1st of July 2022.
As a result, the following area will remain temporarily closed during the weekdays while reconstruction works are being completed.
- The section of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track between the northern entrance of the Lower Bellbird circuit and Nerang - Murwillumbah Rd.
The area will be reopened on weekends for visitors to have access and be able to complete the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track. (refer to separate Park alert: Planned upgrades - Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track. | Parks and forests | Department of Environment and Science, Queensland)
Open remote and bush camping sites:
- Echo Point
- Lost World Creek and Saddle
- Point Lookout
- Running Creek
CLOSED remote and bush camping site:
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
For your safety, please use caution whilst visiting the park—while some walking tracks have reopened, bushwalkers may still encounter falling trees or recently fallen trees due to the soft, saturated ground, and rising or fast flowing creeks. Remember—if it's flooded, forget it, even on our walking tracks!
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
