This alert applies to the following park:
- Bribie Island National Park and Recreation AreaBrisbane; Sunshine Coast
Due to the high demand for campsites in the Ocean Beach camping area, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service are implementing changes to the online booking system for this location.
Campsite bookings will be for a maximum of 7 nights only. Reducing the maximum stay from 29 nights down to 7 nights is aimed at allowing more visitors access to campsites.
All new bookings made in the system will only be allowed for a 7-night maximum stay. These changes will come into effect from 11 February 2022.
Booking changes have been necessary due to the behaviour of some campers who appear to be booking more campsites than they require or failing to cancel their booking when unable to camp. Other account holders have been modifying long term permits in the hope of securing dates in the future which are preventing bookings for genuine campers on weekends.
Remember, if you are unable to use your camping booking please cancel or change your dates to allow others to use the campsite. Apply for your camping permit refund online at www.qld.gov.au/camping. Log into your account and cancel your booking more than two days prior to your booking commencing to receive an automatic refund or alternatively apply for a refund.
We thank all our park visitors for their ongoing support and cooperation.
