This alert applies to the following parks:
- Springbrook National ParkBrisbane; Gold Coast
- Lamington National ParkBrisbane; Gold Coast
- Gold Coast Hinterland Great WalkBrisbane; Gold Coast
Pending favourable weather conditions, planned upgrades to a section of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track (GCHGW) will commence from Tuesday the 26th of April 2022 to Friday the 1st of July 2022.
As a result, the following area will remain temporarily closed during the weekdays while reconstruction works are being completed.
- The section of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track between the northern entrance of the Lower Bellbird circuit and Nerang - Murwillumbah Rd.
The area will be reopened on weekends for visitors to have access and be able to complete the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks track.
Sections of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walks that will remain open during the track upgrades will include:
- The Border track between Green Mountains and Binna Burra
- The section between Numinbah Valley and the Settlement camping area at Springbrook
All other walking tracks and facilities within Lamington and Springbrook National Park will remain open unless identified in a separate park alert.
Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.
All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.
