This alert applies to the following park:

Pending favourable weather conditions, planned works to several mountain bike trails in Nerang National Park will commence from Monday 15 November until further notice.

Works include:

  • Construction of a new difficult technical descending mountain bike trail,
  • The closure of three (3) unsustainable mountain bike trails (Upper Happy Valley, DR Down and Bunnies),
  • The closure of newly constructed mountain bike trails in the sensitive Coombabah Creek catchment.

Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club have also engaged contractors to undertake work on several of the approved mountain bike trails. As a result, the following trails will be temporarily closed at various stages:

  • GC2018 Loop 1 downhill,
  • Casuarina Grove circuit,
  • Baileys,
  • B+Bs, and
  • Rocky Horror.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.

All other mountain bike trails remain open.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
