This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) has installed a new portable toilet waste facility and will introduce mandatory portable toilets requirements at Teewah Beach from 12 October 2021 to address human waste being inappropriately disposed in the area’s natural environment.

From this date, all campers staying in Teewah Beach camping zones 1 to 7 must bring and use a portable toilet for the duration of their stay.

To assist with this new requirement, purpose-built portable toilet waste disposal facilities are available for use by campers at:

  • Second cutting, Noosa North Shore.
  • Freshwater day-use area, (beach camper service bay).
  • Clarkson Drive, Rainbow Beach.

The new waste disposal facility on the Noosa North Shore and the mandatory use of portable toilets by campers will assist with reducing pollution and improving everyone’s experience when visiting the Cooloola Recreation Area.

Rangers will be on patrol to monitor compliance and educate campers about the benefits of using portable toilets.

QPWS thanks you for your support and cooperation during this management change.
