Carnarvon Gorge hazard reduction burning

This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct planned burns at Carnarvon Gorge during the month of September 2021, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire. Smoke Hazard may exist along the park entrance road and Rangers ask that you reduce your speed and drive with caution.

There is not expected to be any closures. QPWS apologises for any inconvenience. 

For your safety please proceed with caution along all park access roads.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
