Park Rangers in the Cooloola Recreation Area have received an increase in reports of wildlife entering camp sites and damaging tents. Unsecured food and rubbish being left available can lead to increasing negative interactions between people and wildlife.
Visitors and campers to the Cooloola Recreation Area are reminded to store all food and rubbish in secure containers. Keep camp sites tidy and do not hang bags or rubbish from trees. Wild animals can damage equipment when seeking unsecured food and rubbish.
It is an offence to leave food or rubbish unsecured at your campsite.
