This alert applies to the following park:

A section of the Kondalilla Falls Circuit (and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk) is temporarily closed—until further notice—due to rock fall.

Access to Kondalilla Falls lookout, the bottom of Kondalilla Falls and the northern section of the Kondalilla Falls circuit is temporarily inaccessible. Signs are in place on-site to inform visitors of the closure.

Large rocks have fallen onto the track and the safety fence has been broken in several places. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service has also identified other potentially dangerous rocks and trees overhanging the track.

Visitors can access the Picnic Creek circuit, the Rock Pool, Flat Rock and the Great Walk. Visitors walking the Great Walk between Baroon Pocket and Kondalilla can use the southern loop of the Kondalilla Falls circuit as a detour.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct a geotechnical assessment of the site as soon as possible. Over the coming months, works will be undertaken to repair damage to infrastructure and ensure the site is safe.

Until works are complete, the site remains very dangerous. For your safety, do not enter the closed area. Please obey all signs and directions for Rangers at the site.
